HDGUARD protects again new Boot-Sector Virus

A recently detected boot-sector virus, based on the freely available code for BootRoot, has been discovered by researchers at Prevx. The still unnamed contaminant embeds itself into the Master Boot Record (MBR), manipulating drivers when the system is booted.

Our customers are advised that HDGUARD offers complete protection agains this threat, since it prevents write-access to the relevant MBR sectors - this virus therefore cannot execute on a system with an activated HDGUARD.
